We finished the first training on fingerprint identification for the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service

During the past month of March we carried out the training in situ sobre physical-human identification through the dactyloscopic method to the staff of the Unit 58 of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service located in the town of Lomas de Zamora, according to resolution 2022-709-GDEBA issued by the institution:
 
“ARTICLE 1.- Authorize the implementation of the course "Introduction to physical-human identification through the dactyloscopic method", presented by the company “ADN Criminalística”, to be carried out by the end of a weekly meeting, with a duration of two hours thirty minutes each, with face-to-face mode, to be developed in Unit No. 58 In March, according to the design established in IF-2022-04977748-GDEBA-SPBMJYDHGP, which forms an integral part of this Resolution”
 
We have the participation of más de 70 prison officers, including the director and deputy directors of the Unit, who with each class recognized the importance of the fingerprint identification system as an ideal method of application to their daily tasks of entry and exit of inmates in a scientific and undoubted way.
 
Among the topics provided during the training, were included: 
  • Identity and principle of sameness.
  • Argentine Dactyloscopic System. Classification and subclassification. file and archive.
  • Quality and suitability of fingerprints. Tools for taking impressions.
  • Fingerprint comparison. Search and identification by characteristic points.
  • Impression taking case studies, classification and collation applied to the tasks of the Unit.
The objective of the training was to improve the techniques and the work of the agents: learn to classify and subclassify dactylograms, as well as recognize characteristic points in sufficient quality and quantity for a correct identification; while it is necessary to know the appropriate tools for the correct impression taking and its subsequent analysis (comparison).
 
We are very grateful to the authorities of the Unit for their good predisposition and accompaniment.; and with the Directorate of Penitentiary Studies, dependent on the General Directorate of Education and Training Institutes, for their support and pedagogical advice in the design of the content, that will result in future training on other forensic areas and to different Units of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service.
 
Finalmente, and after each attendee passed the mandatory exam instance, We closed the course with an act of delivery of certificates for all the personnel who participated in the courses offered in the Unit.
